February 2018 Newsletter

A Word From Our Director ~ Pastor Andrew Pistone

I hope that your new year has gotten off to a great start, and that you have made a fresh commitment to growing in your knowledge of the Bible, and in deepening your relationship with the Lord.  We have the privilege of being able to bring ALL our cares and concerns, ALL our sadness and, yes - even our celebrations of joy to the foot of the cross.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

As followers of Christ, He wants us to trust Him completely, and submit to Him fully.  As we look to Him, He will give us guidance for a life that brings joy to us and glory to His name.

The song, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” comes to mind. Please read through each verse and meditate on the words:

1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

4. Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer—
Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.

No matter what you are going through right now – take it to the Lord in prayer. He is waiting with open arms to hear from you, and He is able to open the windows of heaven and pour out amazing blessings for you.
